Brass 16GA Small Dimple Texture, cleaned with Scotch-Brite
Small Dimple Texture Maximum Size 36"x42"
Our most popular hammered finish. Using a custom designed and fabricated pneumatic hammer, we give the metal its own unique texture. This is a wonderful enhancement to an already attractive material. Pictures show 16GA Brass Textured and cleaned with Scotch-Brite. Please note that Scotch-Brite will not eliminate all blemishes from the hammering and flattening process. Minimum thickness 16GA.
Tycho Texture Maximum Size 24” x 36”
Named after an impact crater on the lunar surface this texture reveals more details the closer you look. Shown here in aluminum cleaned with Scotch-Brite. Please note that Scotch-Brite will not eliminate all blemishes from the hammering and flattening process. Minimum thickness is 1/8”.
Callisto Texture Maximum Size 24” x 36”
A rough and rugged texture, Callisto evokes thoughts of arid mountainous landscapes. Many different levels of texture gives the metal more dimension and creates a wonderful pattern. Examples shown are copper and brass and were cleaned with Scotch-Brite. Please note that Scotch-Brite will not eliminate all blemishes from the hammering and flattening process. Minimum Thickness of material is 16GA.
Tree Bark Texture Maximum Size 24” x 36”
This texture is reminiscent of the bark of a tree and adds an organic quality to the metal. Shown here is 16ga brass with Oil Rubbed Bronze patina and sealed with wax. Minimum thickness is 16GA.
Small Heavy Forged Texture Maximum Size 24”x36”
The Small Heavy Forged texture creates a beautiful three dimensional surface. Shown in copper and cleaned with Scotch-Brite. Please note that Scotch-Brite will not eliminate all blemishes from the hammering and flattening process. Minimum thickness is 1/8”.
Large Heavy Forged Texture Maximum Size 24”x36”
This particular pattern does well with 1/4” thick metal and makes for a very tactile surface with its very large smooth depressions. Shown here on the left in steel. The darker color in the depressions is from scaling during heating and will not happen with other metals. The image on the right is White Bronze. Minimum thickness for material is 1/4”.
Textures for Flat Bar
Flat Bars are available in 36” or 72” lengths and up to 6” wide

We create one-of-a-kind hand-hammered textured metals for our customers.
In today’s market there are many clients looking for perfectly made symmetrical textures that have a hammered “look”. That is not what we do.
Each piece we create is subtly different, even if they are the same alloy and texture.
Most metals have natural imperfections that create differences in variety, spacing, and depth of the hammer marks.
There is a level of irregularity in each piece that adds to the beauty of a custom hand-crafted product. We believe there is no substitute for this.
Here are some things to think about when you are considering Custom Hammered Metals:
The hammered metals we create are intended to be used for the fabrication of projects.
The same textures can differ from one alloy to another.
Generally, thicker metals will have bolder textures than thinner ones.
The larger the size of the metal textured, the larger the variations.
Samples will vary slightly from the larger finished product as everything is hand hammered -not rolled or stamped.
We use many traditional blacksmithing methods to create our textured metals.
If you are looking for something that is completely uniform, like it was made by a machine, this is not the appropriate product.
After texturing, annealing, and flattening, there will still be some slight undulations in the flatness of each piece.
When we apply the texture to the metal it grows, sometimes more than a 1/2” in each direction. If you need the material to be cut to size after it is textured there will be an extra charge.
Certain metals are heated before texturing. This results in darker depressions.
